The City of Chicago Agrees to Purchase $8.7 Million Worth of Toyota Hybrid Vehicles

The City of Chicago signed a contract worth $8,7 million with local dealership, Northside Toyota, to purchase up to 300 Toyota hybrid vehicles. Chicago will buy 100 Prius sedans, 100 Camry sedans, and 100 Highlander SUVs over the next three years.

These cars will be added to the city's fleet of about 5,400 cars and will likely be used by police and fire departments. The city says it is trying to increase the number of alternative fuel cars by 10% each year.
