UK Green Building Council Proposed

An industry led proposal aims to create a UK Green Building Council similar to the successful US Green Building Council. The hope is to provide a coalition of interested groups, instead of the numerous different organizations working towards reducing carbon emissions and the environmental impact of building. The Sustainable Building Task Group recommended creating a single entitiy to provide a much better way to communicate between groups within the green building movement. Dr. David Strong, Managing Director of BRE Environment, has been given the task of establishing the new UK Green Building Council.
